Small Window Coming

I was driving home from church at midnight after building a set through the evening, and realized two things:

1.  I forgot what day it was.  I was trying to think through what had to be done the next day, and couldn't remember what day was ending.

2.  I hadn't eaten dinner.

These are the kinds of things I tend not to forget when my life isn't so hectic.  There is a small window in the business coming once I can get to the campsites this weekend.  Rest will be here, but not soon enough.

  1. remember...no matter how much work you do every day (especially in ministry) there will always be more to do...so leave work on time, take your lunch breaks and remember to rest. You are doing God's work...and he doesn't "need" you. He will get it done either way. The only way you can give him your best is if you have your best to give.

I speak from 9 yrs of pastoring experience. I got this advice from someone who has been pastoring longer than I have been alive.

Your #1 relationship is with your God...your #2 is with your wife...and the church/ministry comes in 3rd...and some days it will fall lower on the list if you have kids or parents who need your care.

just reminders of things you already know.
I hope you find your rest soon. It matters.
