When does it become excessive? I heard a church advertise its 8 Christmas Eve services this year. 8 of them. Doesn't that seem a little overboard?
How can one place possibly have the need for 8 services? What kind of community can be created across 8 services?
My life is lived within parenthesis. My life is not about me, though it may contain some interesting points. The main point is far outside myself and rests with my God/Savior. I seek to tell His story in a different way, a way that you'll understand, a way that will move you, and in a way that draws you into relationship with the Hero of the story.

You asked "How can one place possibly have the need for 8 services" - my church has 7 regular services every Sunday. It's due to a lack of priests - larger congregations are becoming the norm in a Catholic church - and some places outside America are only having priests come to say mass once few weeks. The feeling of community is a different issue though.
