Some Things Never Fail

We paid our car loan off completely just over a week ago.

That almost always means it is time for something to go wrong. It happens to be our furnace.

They are coming to look at it tomorrow morning. I suppose we will find out the damage then. A cheap repair would be nice, but the gut says we'll probably have to go a more expensive route.

I can understand. We don't have a furnace, but two heat pumps. We lost one of them in December and had to replace it. Boy are new ones expensive! Both were the same age and we were told that it had lived its expected life. The repairman commented that the other heat pump is living on borrowed time. Doesn't that make you feel good! Th silver lining is the Energysavings tax credit is still good in 2010 - up to 30% rebate, $1500 max, with a qualifying unit. We qualify for a 2010 rebate for our heat pump.

I'm glad the furnace is working agian and you have a warm home. Also glad that the repair bill was closer to the monthly car payment versus 10x the cost if you had to replace the furnace. May you continue to have a working furnace!
