As Jenny and I were planning what our evening was going to look like, one of our options was a movie night.
When Jenny discovered (on the cruise) that I had seen Dirty Dancing, but had never seen Footloose or Flashdance, she decided that at some point we would need to have an 80's movie night to watch them.
We thought about it for a little bit, and we even have some giftcards to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.
After discussion of how we would co-ordinate both getting dinner and the movies (if we chose that option) Jenny said "I don't feel like dealing with the movie people."
I used to be one of those people. Jason and I both have proud memories of working at a video store. And Jenny, my wife, my friend, my lover, my only doesn't want to deal with "those people!"
I'm sarcastically offended.
Really, I just didn't know what to type.
We didn't even end up having the movie night, sometime though, I'll have more avenues to discover the six degrees of Kevin Bacon, just not tonight.

come on? Those people are awesome!!! They are soo much fun to hang around. yes they are freaking crazys but they know their movies.
i typically try to ask them about 100 questions. Like what is your favorite movie that came out in 2007? Then i ask them why? Then I ask them if the movie I am holding in my hand is any good? I ask them how many movies they rent a week?
I love watching them get sooo serious about their movies and their job. some are called to be pastors. some are called to be teachers. some are called to be doctors. AND some are called to be movie people.
It's not so much that I didn't want to deal with the people as humans. We don't have any accounts set up at any video place because we always go to the Redbox across the street (for those of you who are not blessed with Redboxes, you can rent a movie for $1 with your credit card, fully automated). I didn't feel like spending the time to open an account so that I could walk out the door with one or two movies rented with a gift card. And I know I would have been the one doing it.
Really, I felt lazy...for that I should get credit from a certain someone. =)
