I've hit one of those times where I have lots of books to read and wish I had the time to read them.
With birthday and Christmas time coming, I think I currently have four books that I've gotten new in the last few weeks that I'm wishing I could be reading already. I'm about half way done with one of them, but work keeps putting itself in the way of all the pleasure reading I want to do.
Why can't life just be organized so that I get to enjoy the things I want and responsibilities leave in those moments?

2 and a half months...
It has been 2 and half months since I have updated this blog. Quite a bit happened over that time, some of which was why I wasn't writing.
The soccer season ended. We finished with a better season record than we had anticipated and were excited about the progress of the program.
An adoption process came and went, with a couple of strands of anxiety and grief in its midst. The confusion of that process and our intention to be clear to each other (Jenny and I) on what was worth publicizing and what was worth keeping more guarded was the primary reason I wasn't writing. Now that we've updated the adoption blog again, and the new year has come, it is time to write again.
I've started running consistently. It was something that I said I would never do again, unless there was a cause. Well, the Young Adult Ministry I lead has had 13 of us sign up to run and raise money for human trafficking. That means my minimum is a 5K (ran in October) a 10K (ran in the below 0 weather yesterday) and a Half Marathon (to be run in March). Over the course of that time I intend to raise $500 to support women that need to be free from sex slavery. Information on giving will be coming if you are interested.
I also got to preach a Sunday service again. It came on short notice (a Thursday afternoon request) but was fun for me again. I don't know when, but i'm sure it will be posted online at some point (they end up there, but often come in 2 month chunks) for anyone to hear.
Looking forward to sharing life and thoughts with the internet at large again!
