Stickler on Technicalities

I tend to be a stickler on technicalities and logical inconsistencies.

As such, I find myself upset with the flaws in some specific rules in the NFL.

I feel that every spike to stop the clock should be called for "intentional grounding" as the quarterback does not leave the pocket, does not throw past the line of scrimmage, and does not have a receiver in the area.

I have numerous problems with the way they call and mark the recovery of punts.

Today I found a new one.  If someone voluntarily taking a knee is considered down, I feel that the placeholder in a field goal try should not be allowed to have his knee on the ground while in posession of the ball.

I'm a stickler on the consistencies.
